ENROLLMENT MARKETING & MANAGEMENT 2017 STUDY.

June 1, 2017 (Boston) Market Directions announced today that it will be conducting the Enrollment Marketing & Management Study for 2017, a market research study of higher education professionals regarding digital enrollment marketing. The Boston-based marketing research firm is designing the study to provide higher education professionals with insight into industry trends so that they can best market their programs to non-traditional students.

“Today’s digital marketing innovations means higher ed enrollment administrators can identify potential new non-traditional students in a targeted radius, and get their message to those students,” said Mary Malaszek, Principal and Founder of Market Directions. “We’re looking forward to hearing what enrollment administrators have to say about their use of digital marketing techniques.”

To complete the study, Market Directions intends to conduct in-depth telephone interviews with higher education professionals. During the interviews, the firm will discuss innovative techniques that professionals are using today to recruit students, boost enrollment and increase engagement. Ultimately, the study will help determine best practices for marketing digital educational programs that are ideal for today’s non-traditional students.

Now is a particularly exciting time to be completing this type of study, as there has been an increased emphasis on online education programs during the last 5 years. University marketing departments are feeling an increase in pressure to generate a significant return on their investments in marketing and promotional materials. At the same time, there is a growing demand for online education options and an increasing number of non-traditional students who seek to complete their studies remotely with the latest technological resources.

The anonymous sponsor of the study is part of the higher education industry, delivering creative, targeted digital marketing services for higher education institutions that recruit non-traditional students.

The study will take place from June 5 through June 23. Interviews are currently being conducted with higher education professionals and those with enrollment management expertise. For more information, contact us today.

MARKET DIRECTIONS HIRED BY SWEET CLIENT

“All American Candy Store” Will Open in Boston’s Historic North End
Boston, September 14, 2015. Market Directions’ new client isn’t another Fortune 500 company, but Yankee Doodle Candy™ is a sweet addition to the Boston marketing agency’s roster of business partners.

“Yankee Doodle Candy™ is a new store, but I’m confident that it will be very successful,” said Mary Malaszek, the founder and principal of Market Directions. “The store’s candy and theme is all about nostalgia and we want to make it a new North End destination for locals and tourists. The smell of the candy will make a lot of customers’ mouths water and the sight of what you had as treats as a kid will make your eyes water. Then, the taste of the candy will create chocoholics. You will want to come back again and again to create new traditions (from old) for you and your family.”

Market Directions has been providing marketing insights for a multitude of companies in a multitude of industries for 21 years. Its clients include Fortune 500 companies including technology startups, major universities, telecommunications companies, and health care firms. Market Directions has been very skilled in meeting the needs of clients. Some of its surveys are completed in days. Data compiled for clients has been quoted and used in testimony and presented at conferences.

Virginia Omar and her daughters of Yankee Doodle Candy™, said they spent considerable time scrutinizing Market Directions’ record before hiring the company. “I was amazed at how many companies Market Directions helped turnaround and grow,” said Omar. “I was particularly impressed with the company’s personal touch. Many companies that have worked with Fortune 500 and other large companies don’t make a priority of helping small and new companies, but Mary Malaszek and her staff have a great reputation for personal service.”

Yankee Doodle Candy was inspired by Omar’s mother, whose apron pockets were always full of candy. It will feature nostalgic chocolates, artisan chocolates, and bulk chocolates. The chocolate candy will have a common touch — it is hand crafted from Maine. More information about the store’s specific candies will be available at their website, which is still under construction.

The Yankee Doodle Candy™ store is in the North End, which is known for its excellent Italian restaurants and has a large Italian population. Tourists flock to the North End because of its restaurants and its history.

A large part of the Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile walking trail that goes by many of Boston’s historic landmarks, is in the North End. Altogether, there are 12 landmarks in the North End on the USA’s National Register of Historic Places. The landmarks include Paul Revere’s home and the Old North Church, which is where the colonial Americans signaled on April 18, 1775, via lanterns that the British Army was approaching in its effort to end the American Revolution before it gathered momentum. Revere’s famous ride to the revolutionaries occurred on the same day.

The Yankee Doodle Candy™ store is on 56 Salem St., Boston, near the Rose Kennedy Greenway. The store is open now but its official Grand Opening is scheduled for October 24. The store’s phone number is 617-530-1950.

In places like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, International Women’s Day is a national holiday. Statistics2013 is a worldwide initiative that is highlighting the contributions of the statistical sciences to finding solutions to global challenges. Market Directions is a Statistics2013 participating organization.

Like their counterparts in other professional fields, women pioneers in the statistical sciences have made outstanding and trailblazing contributions to their profession and have opened the field to more women.

“We salute the world’s women this International Women’s Day—a special day dedicated to them and their achievements past, present and future,” says Mary Malaszek, Market Directions Founder and Principal Manager. “The statistical sciences profession and our global society has greatly benefited from the groundbreaking contributions of women statisticians including Florence Nightingale, who used statistics to modernize health care; Dr. Janet Lane-Claypon,who made several important contributions to epidemiology by using and improving its use of statistics; and Janet Norwood, who as the first woman commissioner of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics made major contributions to government statistics.”

Today, the number of women among mathematicians and statisticians equals the number of men, says a U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey report. Further, women statisticians are influential in many countries—41 of the world’s 190 statistical offices were headed by women in 2010, says The World’s Women 2010: Trends and Statistics, a report commissioned by the United Nations. MARKET DIRECTIONS IDENTIFIES HOW A SHOCKED NATION FOLLOWED THE BOSTON MARATHON BOMBINGS

May 6, 2013 (Boston, Mass.) — Market Directions announced today that it is conducting a study about people’s reactions to the Boston Marathon bombings. Market Directions is a Boston based market research firm that has been collecting data about people and places for over 20 years and whose family was close to the incidents of April 15, 2013.

“There are heroic and tragic stories that have been and will continue to be told about the people affected by the Boston Marathon bombings, but no one is collecting information about the bystanders— the people who watched from the sidelines, from their homes and through social media” says Mary Malaszek, author of the study and Principal of Market Directions.

The study is in the form of an on-line survey located on Market Directions website. The survey asks questions about how a respondent heard about the bombings, how they followed the investigation, and the tools they used to stay informed. Additionally, the study delves into how people felt and if they were afraid for their and their family’s personal safety.

Preliminary results indicate that 100 percent of the respondents kept up with the investigation the week of April 15th, watching television but believing the networks could have done a better job reporting. When residents of Massachusetts were asked about public officials communications to their citizens, the majority were at least “somewhat satisfied” with their reports.

Additionally, when asked about individual concern for safety a majority stated they were very concerned from Monday afternoon, April 15th through the evening of Friday April 19th. However, by Saturday people’s concerns were the same as before the Marathon Bombings.

The entire study results and report will be available for anyone to download from Market Directions website sometime in June. Market Directions made a donation to the One Fund on behalf of those who respond to the survey.
